India is an amazing country, full of contrasts, colour and noise however it is not an easy place in which to travel and to find your way. Our trip to India was made so easy by Ganpat, who runs the company, Incredible Tour to India. Ganpat organized our accommodation, internal air tickets, train tickets, guides to the major monuments and our wonderful driver, Vikram Singh. Without Singh we would definitely not have coped. Not only was he a fantastic driver who navigated the horrendous traffic in India but he was kind and gentle and nothing was too much trouble. I really don’t know how he copes with the traffic but he does! Having your own driver allows you to go to places that are not available when in large organized tours.
For one day at each city we had a competent and knowledgeable guide who made visiting the wonderful sites easy by buying our tickets and showing the way. They were able to take us to restaurants that were clean. They were also good photographers who happily took my phone camera and clicked away leaving us to enjoy the wonder of the ancient sites. I would suggest that you let your guide know if you are not interested in going to outlet stores from the outset as we found this irritating with the guide we had in Agra.
When we were unhappy with one of the hotels Ganpat had booked, we phoned him and he smoothly transitioned us to accommodation more suitable to travellers of our age group. (Over 60)
We stayed at GGs Bed and Breakfast in Delhi and this was our favourite accommodation and the food was great, at the Hilton in Agra, and the Haveli Traditional Hotel in Jaipur, which was a little noisy but the staff were fantastic. When Ganpat sends the itinerary with the suggested accommodation, read the reviews to determine whether this is the standard of accommodation that you want as he is happy to make adjustments accordingly.
When in Jaipur, Ganpat invited us to his home for dinner and it was delightful to meet his family and share a meal.
